About The Park
Saadani is the only national park in East Africa that touches the Indian Ocean. Here you can watch elephants walking on the beach, hippos in the river, and dolphins swimming in the sea. It is the perfect place for travelers who want both wildlife and the coast in one trip.
The park covers forests, rivers, mangroves, and long stretches of white sand. Inside the park you will find lions, buffalo, giraffes, and many antelopes. The Wami River is full of hippos and crocodiles, and its birdlife is among the best in Tanzania. On the ocean side, green turtles come to lay their eggs on the beaches, and lucky visitors may see them hatch.
Saadani is also close to the Zaraninge Forest Reserve, which is home to rare monkeys and rich bird species. A visit here offers both adventure and peace, with the sound of the waves mixing with the calls of the wild.
