Lk. Manyara Overview
Lake Manyara National Park may be small, but it is one of Tanzania’s most diverse safari spots. It stretches along the base of the Rift Valley escarpment and is known for its groundwater forest, open floodplains, and the shallow alkaline lake that covers a large part of the park. The park is famous for tree-climbing lions, large flocks of flamingos, and troops of baboons that are among the biggest in Africa. Hippos can be seen in the pools, while giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, and many birds roam freely. Its mix of landscapes and wildlife makes Lake Manyara a beautiful and unique stop in the northern circuit.
