Overview
Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s most beautiful and varied parks, even though it is small in size. It lies at the foot of Mount Meru, the second-highest mountain in Tanzania, and offers stunning views of both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. The park has three main areas: the lush Ngurdoto Crater, the Momella Lakes known for flamingos, and the mountain forests full of wildlife. Giraffes are commonly seen here, along with zebras, buffaloes, colobus monkeys, and many bird species. It is also one of the best places for walking safaris and canoeing, making it a great stop for travelers who want something different from the typical game drive.
