About Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is famous for its huge elephant herds and giant baobab trees that rise across the landscape. The park covers about 2,850 km² and is crossed by the Tarangire River, which becomes a lifeline for animals during the dry season. From June to October, thousands of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and gazelles gather around the river, creating some of the best wildlife viewing in northern Tanzania. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, and many bird species also thrive here. Tarangire is less crowded than the Serengeti and Ngorongoro, making it a perfect place for a peaceful and authentic safari experience.
